Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala

Attending the Fashion Scholarship Fund Gala as a 2026 scholar was an unforgettable experience that combined celebration, learning, and connection. From the moment I arrived in New York City, the program made everything seamless and welcoming. I was even able to check into my room hours early, which gave me time to settle in and meet my roommate, who ended up being amazing. Right away, I felt surrounded by like-minded individuals, all passionate about fashion and eager to connect.

Throughout the trip, one of the most impactful aspects was the opportunity to build relationships with both peers and industry professionals. I made meaningful connections with other scholars from diverse backgrounds, each bringing a unique perspective to the industry. At the same time, I was able to network with established leaders and gain valuable career advice that I will carry with me moving forward. These conversations gave me insight into different paths within fashion and helped me better understand where I see myself in the future.

The first day set the tone for the entire experience. We visited KidSuper Studios, where I was able to hear directly from the creative mind behind the brand and learn about his perspective on the industry. It was an inspiring and interactive environment that encouraged both creativity and conversation. Being in that space, surrounded by other scholars, made the experience even more engaging and memorable.

On the second day, we visited the PVH offices, which was an incredible opportunity to step inside a major fashion company and hear from industry leaders, including Stefan Larsson. Learning about their roles, experiences, and insights into the business side of fashion was extremely valuable. Later, we headed to Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), where we heard from influential voices like Prabal Gurung and Kathy Lee. The discussions were insightful and gave us a deeper understanding of the evolving fashion landscape, and it was exciting to even take home a copy of the magazine.

The highlight of the trip was, of course, the gala itself. Getting dressed up for such a prestigious event was something I truly enjoyed, but what made it even more special was being in a room filled with inspiring individuals. Hearing from influential figures like Tommy Hilfiger, Russell Wilson, Ciara, Travis Scott, Law Roach, and Stefan Larsson was incredibly motivating. The energy in the room was unmatched, and it was inspiring to see so many different voices and perspectives come together to celebrate the future of fashion.

The final day brought us to the Levi’s offices, where we participated in additional discussions and a Q&A session. It was the perfect way to close out the experience, allowing for reflection and deeper conversations. Being able to step inside yet another major brand’s workspace added to the overall inspiration and gave me a broader view of the industry.

Overall, this experience was more than just a trip, it was a moment of growth, inspiration, and confirmation that I am on the right path. From networking and learning to exploring the city and embracing every opportunity along the way, this experience reinforced my passion for fashion and my excitement for what lies ahead.
